Started out in 39 degree weather , Walt and Steve headed out at 6:30 the rest of the group left an hour or so later.  The desert was anything but boring as we were entertained with the blooming of many of the native plants ---creosote, beaver tail cactus and ochotillo in bloom.
Beautiful weather, past large feed lots we did see one cow that had busted out but didn't seem to recognize the urgency of his situation, we all had  close encounters with dogs, DazerII ultrasonic worked well.
Headed into the imperial sand dunes and stopped in Glamis where the toilet is $2.00 and monster drinks are $7. Although the Smirnoff ice is quite affordable.
Got out of that town fast.  Linked up with the support vehicles a little further on at Palo Verde Pass for a quick lunch.
Not much in the way of towns after that but our "road angels" supported us through 40 beautiful miles with lots of  rolling hills.  Some of the road lacks a good shoulder but most of the drivers, including some really big RV+ sand toy rigs were really polite.  Robbie, Bernie and Joan kept tabs on us all days insuring hydration and fuel during some long stretches with no services.
We all linked up again at Palo Verde with 20 miles to go. Doug, Rick, Cathy, Stan and Walt finished the full route , which was a PB for Cathy. Liz, Ciardo and Ken logged 50+ miles. Ken did 53 miles which was a PB for him  this year. Liz helped to shuttle Measles forward with Julie ( the Queen of the RV drivers)
Cocktails around the pool with snacks by Doug and Robin. Headed to the (dis) Courtsey  Restaurant across from our Best Western Sahara  but not much hospitality so we walked out. As you might surmise we were less than impressed with the Courtesy. Liz called Sizzlers, the owner treated us very well and we ended up with a private room and he entertained us with tales of his family and the history of Blythe.
Walt and Rizyy finished off the evening with a little guitar music around the pool. Liz and Dick spnt their first full night in a "RV park" with scenic vies of the colorado river and mountains.  Tomorrow off to Salome AZ
