Day 73 Republic to Omak

65 miles and 3010 ft. Rolled out of Republic without my helmet, that's a first. Major climb followed by 20 mile downhill. Major field of sunflowers amidst a high pine/sage desert. Followed route 20 to Omak.

Day 72 Colville to Republic WA

58 miles and 5010 ft , Rolled to Columbia River, crossed scariest bridge of the trip. Ascended to Sherman pass, screaming 15 mile descent. Stopped at FBOR for beer and sandwiches. Dinner at Esther's, where Rizzy had a Coronita.

Day 71 Rest Day Colville

Thought you like to get a little insight into how the roommates are doing in the " nest building Dept.". My college dorm looked better.

Day 70 Newport to Colville WA

52 miles 2000 ft. One good climb as a prelude to the Cascades. Watched them race snowmobile on river in Ione. Dinner at Tony's Italian Restaurant, the off to last drive-in in Washington state.

Day 69 Sandpoint ID to Newport WA

78 miles 1800 ft Rode out of town on a causeway over the lake. Newport was only 35 miles so we rode along Pend Oreille river into Kalispel Reservation.

Day 68 Rest Day Sandpoint ID

Bike repair, hot tubs, bar food, beach walks and one more sunset pontoon boat ride. 5 brave souls swam in the crystal clear water of Lake Pend Oreille.

Day 67 Libby MT to Sandpoint ID

95 miles 2800 ft. Amazing hike to swinging bridge and falls. Finished the day riding along Lake Pend Oreille . ( Ponderay). Sandpoint is a major recreation town. Beautiful beaches.
